At Bauer Welding & Metal Fabricators, our facility is equipped with CNC and multi-spindle laser cutting machines to process round, square, rectangular, and oval tubes or sheets. These high precision laser cutting machines enable us to cut copes, slots, or holes into tubes with outer diameters up to 8" and wall thicknesses up to 0.375". Typical materials processed include carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel, copper, and brass. The 2500-watt Mazak Space Gear Mark II 6-axis laser cutting machine at our facility is an all-in-one laser center capable of cutting sheets, pre-bent tubing, and bent tubular structures.
Our laser cutting services are available for 2-D and 3-D parts. In 2-D mode operation, the laser cuts flat sheets and plates up to 0.87" in thicknesses. The machine also operates in 3-D mode to cut preformed sculptured surfaces. A non-contact profiler maintains a constant standoff distance and eliminates marring of parts. A CNC rotary chuck attached to the laser facilitates handling of tubes, pipes, and structural shapes. The six axis continuous CNC control allows us to cut holes, slots, and angled features in a single setup, both in sheet and preformed tubular parts. Our 2200-watt LMI laser features 8 spindles for tube cutting and a bed for processing sheets.
The automated loading/unloading capabilities of our laser cutting systems increase productivity and reduce turnaround time. Bauer's 2500 watt, high-speed BLM Adige LT712 tube laser system can process cut-to-length tube stock with lengths up to 21 feet. Additionally, our newest 3000 watt, BLM Fiber Optic tube laser is equipped with an extended loader and can process materials up to 27 feet long to enable maximum nesting options and reduced waste. Both laser systems are capable of cutting special features in round tubes with outer diameters up to 6.0" and square tubes with side dimensions up to 4". All our metal fabricating machines are CAD/CAM linked. Our high-speed CNC laser cutting machines enable us to precisely cut special features in parts such as exhaust tubes, frame components, and brackets with minimal or no tooling cost.
